2008/9 Edition
NOTE: Blog for the 2009/10 season can be found here.
Named for the colour of our shirts as much as our hair, the Silver Machine is the Yokohama Country and Athletic Club’s senior football team. Not one of us is under 35. Honest, ref.
In a normal season we play every Saturday or Sunday on the YC&AC’s own notorious pitch against senior sides from across the prefecture and beyond. Thanks to the tireless efforts of YC&AC boards recent past and present, our pitch is now undergoing reconstruction. At some point early in the new year we will be hobbling out onto what could be the finest all weather football surface in Japan.
In the meantime we’ll be playing our matches irregularly, at grounds close to the Club, mostly on the vast all weather surface at Shin Yoko Football Park, which is no bad thing. Although this season will therefore be a fragmented one, our fans can rest assured that we will continue to play the beautiful game with all the passion, finesse and grit for which we have become feared on the senior football circuit in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Any YC&AC member who is or looks over 35 and enjoys a bit of football is warmly encouraged to join the pride of Yaguchidai—the “anti-septically clean” Silver Machine.
‘kinell Hendy – can’t a retired goalie read the match reports without a slagging off?? Go on then, I don’t mind. Do I retain naming rights over the PB Shed End when the new turf goes in, or is further massive bribery required? Never know, I may show up for the christening.

Good to hear from you, Paul.
Needless to say, you retain naming rights for the Shed End. You’ve earned them!
It would be fantastic if you could make it over for the christening….
It sound’s good to keep play soccer over 35+.
I am in Yokota now. Can’t find any soccer club or team on base. Do you know any soccer club is close to yokota?
Thanks
Could you add me in your mailing address, if there is one? Was playing futsal a little bit before and would like to play soccer too. I joined YCAC from May, was a member at KRAC till then.
